Networking in the MountainsIn Events
While many of us mountain entrepreneurs smugly post pictures of perfect pistes to our social media accounts, alongside such statements as ‘another day at the office!’, in reality, many of us don’t have an ‘office’ to speak of. You’ll find us working from dining room tables, coffee shops or even on laptops on the sofa.
Personally, I miss the inspiring interaction that comes from working amongst a team of motivated people. Bouncing ideas around, problem solving and giving advice and support are the cornerstones of business networking. Living and working in the Alps is unquestionably inspiring, but I’m often left wondering – is it also prohibiting my business growth? Am I missing out on new concepts and ideas, or new market opportunities?
Sarah Muir, owner of Morzine based SM Hairdressing and I have been discussing the prospect of an informal entrepreneur’s group for some time, usually while she’s giving me a trim. We’re planning our first meeting at the moment, and we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to get involved. If you’re new to networking, or if your curious as to how it might benefit you personally (and your business, obviously!) then here’s a helpful article we found on entrepreneur.com.
Get in touch if you’d like to join us.
