Cool Bus Transfers
In PublishingOver the last 13 years, Rob Forbes has established one of the oldest and largest airport transfer companies in the Alps – Cool Bus. Based in Bourg Saint Maurice in the Tarentaise Valley, Rob’s twenty VW minibuses carry nearly 20,000 skier and snowboarders each winter between the main ski hub airports of Geneva, Chambery and Lyon to the popular ski resorts of Tignes, Val d’Isere, La Plagne and Les Arcs.
Having already established a strong social media presence and an accompanying blog, Rob was keen to find other ways to engage with his growing market of ski transfer passengers. An understanding of the interests and information requirements of the ski holiday traveller was essential.
In December 2012 Origami Media launched issue one of The Cool Bus Magazine – a season long, 32 page A4 magazine, published in full colour.
Content included:
– An interview with Olympic skier and BBC Ski Sunday presenter Graham Bell
– Resort news, events and developments
– Local tips and recommendations
– An avalanche briefing from international expert Henry Schniewind
– Mountain style guide
Magazines were available on all Cool Bus airport transfer vehicles, and in Geneva Airport arrivals hall during Winter 12/13.
Origami Media were also commissioned to publish issue two of The Cool Bus Magazine for Winter 13/14.
In their own words…
“Working with Origami Media on our annual passenger magazine is a slick and engaging process. Scheduled content meetings are productive and inspiring. The quality of editorial is excellent, as is the overall design and production of the finished magazines, which are always delivered on time. Our passengers genuinely enjoy the read and we’re happy to offer them loads of useful information so they make the most of their holiday. I really believe that our magazine helps us retain our market share”
